Agriperlite (Perlite) is a mineral material of volcanic origin, expanded at high temperatures, with an extremely lightweight, porous and sterile structure, ideal for improving aeration and lightness of substrates for both potted plants and open-ground cultivation.
Thanks to its physical structure, agriperlite does not compact, does not decompose and keeps the substrate permanently airy, promoting healthy root development.
Available in various package formats, it is suitable for both hobby and professional use.
Why use perlite with plants
- ✔ Improves aeration of the substrate, increasing oxygen availability to the roots.
- ✔ Lightens the potting soil, making pots easier to handle and the substrate more stable.
- ✔ Is sterile and inert, does not alter pH and does not release harmful substances.
Available grain sizes
- Classic size (2/6 mm) it is suitable for any use: sowing, rooting of offshoots and cuttings, as a component of the growing medium for ornamental plants, orchids, tropical plants, houseplants, cacti and succulents, and, in general, for all those plants that prefer a light and well-aerated substrate.
Ideal for
- Sowing and cuttings
- Ornamental and tropical plants, orchids
- Cactus and succulents (mixed with other aggregates)
- Potted plants that require light and airy substrates
How to use it
- In the substrate: mixed with potting soil to improve aeration and lightness.
- For sowing and cuttings: in mixes or pure to promote fast and healthy rooting.
- Mixed with other aggregates: together with pumice, lapillus and/or zeolite to create custom substrates.
💡 Tip: Perlite is perfect for lightening compact potting soils and quickly improving substrate structure, especially for potted plants and seed starting. Do not exceed the percentage, as it retains some moisture!
